Double Bass

The double bass is the largest and lowest sounding instrument in the string family. At 180cm, the double bass is often taller than the musician playing it!

The double bass is played using a bow, which is drawn across the strings to produce a beautiful, rich, deep sound. The double bass section usually plays the bass line of the orchestral music.

Very rarely, the double bass has the chance to play the melody. This is a very special moment!
